REGISTRATION OPENS SOON!
What: LACDL Criminal Defense Boot Camp
When: November 12-14, 2026
Where: Baton Rouge, LA
The New Attorney Boot Camp is a practical, start-to-finish training designed for attorneys who are new to criminal defense or in the early years of practice. This seminar is built to bridge the gap between theory and real-world defense work, providing a clear roadmap for handling a criminal case with confidence.
The program walks through a case from initial client intake through final appeal, focusing on the decisions, strategies, and skills that matter most early on. Topics include investigation, preliminary motions, trial preparation, preserving the record for appeal, working with experts and mitigation, and coordinating state and federal proceedings in dual-prosecution cases. The Boot Camp will also introduce LACDL’s Criminal Defense Practice Curriculum, a new member resource outlining core competencies and best practices for criminal defense attorneys.
Whether you’re newly licensed or newer to criminal defense, this boot camp offers practical guidance you can apply immediately in your practice.
New Attorney Members who join LACDL between January and November 2026 receive complimentary registration for the New Attorney Boot Camp.
